Making fondue is surprisingly easy and these simple fondue recipes are perfect for a date night at home and a fun dessert for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner or party. We've kept things sugar-free using our Monkfruit Sweetener and share some of our other sugar-free products for a sweet evening in.

Here are some tips to make your fondue experience successful:

1. Although nice to have, these recipes do not require a fondue pot. A simple, good saucepan will work well on lower heat. 

2. Make sure to watch that the heat stays low—otherwise the chocolate can separate, get grainy, and burn easily.

3. Add the liquid in the recipe first, then add chocolate and heat just until melted. Then add other ingredients.

4. Make sure your pan and any other dishes that come into contact with your chocolate are completely dry and free from water.

5. Salvage thickened or lumpy chocolate by stirring in a few teaspoons of coconut oil.

6. Change up the flavor with spices like cinnamon, vanilla bean, or cayenne; coffee grounds; or liqueurs like Grand Marnier.

7. Add a scoop of Lakanto Suntella Sunflower Spread for a gourmet addition 

8. Use skewers to dip!

 Low Carb, Sugar-Free Chocolate Fondue 

Ingredients: 

Instructions for Low Carb, Sugar-Free Chocolate Fondue:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small, 1 quart slow cooker on the low setting. Heat for 30-40 minutes or until chocolate is melted. 
  2. Stir or whisk often to keep ingredients smooth
  3. Place the slow cooker on the “keep warm” setting and serve with low carb fruits like strawberries, raspberries or blueberries.

Creamy, Delicious, Sugar-Free Chocolate Fondue 

Ingredients: 

1 8oz package Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetened Chocolate Chips 

1 cup Heavy Cream (can sub Coconut Cream)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Place Lakanto chocolate chips and heavy cream in a fondue pot or a saucepan over low heat. Whisk chocolate into the cream until it is fully melted, about 4-5 minutes. Add vanilla. Serve with all your favorite dippers.

Sugar-Free Butterscotch Fondue  

1 cup sugar-free sweetened condensed milk (recipe linked)

1 cup packed Lakanto Brown Monkfruit Sweetener

1/2 cup butter, melted (can sub coconut oil)

⅓ cup Lakanto Simple Flavoring Syrup (Original, Vanilla or Caramel)

1 tsp vanilla extract

⅛  cup rum or any milk

 

Instructions for Sugar-Free Butterscotch Fondue:

In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker stir together the Sugar-Free sweetened condensed milk, Lakanto Brown Monkfruit Sweetener, butter, Lakanto Simple Flavoring Syrup, and vanilla extract.


Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 3 hours (never turn on high-heat setting). Whisk in rum or milk until smooth. Keep warm on low-heat setting for up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
