A Little Tip :For the best slices, let your Dutch apple pie cool before serving so the apple filling has time to set. If you're making it ahead for a gathering, you can prepare it earlier in the day and let it cool completely before slicing. Serve slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a dessert everyone will want to come back to!

Ingredients

    Apple Filling

    • 8 tart apples, peeled, cored, quartered, and sliced
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons Lakanto Maple Syrup
    • 1 tablespoon Lakanto Brown Allulose
    • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
    • 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder or cornstarch
    • Pinch of salt

    Pie Crust

    • 1 standard refrigerated 9-inch pie crust

    Almond Flour Crumb Topping

    • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
    • 1 tablespoon Lakanto Golden
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons softened butter
    • 2 tablespoons Lakanto Maple Syrup
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    Directions

    1. Cook the apples. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced apples and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes. Add Lakanto Brown Allulose and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring often. Stir in the Lakanto Maple Syrup, cinnamon, arrowroot powder, and salt. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, then remove from heat and allow the filling to cool slightly.
    2. Prepare the crumb topping. In a bowl, mix the almond flour, Lakanto Golden or Classic Monkfruit Sweetener, cinnamon, softened butter, Lakanto Maple Syrup, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
    3. Prepare the crust. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Fit the refrigerated pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan and prick the bottom with a fork. Blind bake for up to 10 minutes.
    4. Add the filling. Spoon the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
    5. Bake the pie. Bake for 30 minutes, then carefully add the crumb topping. Return to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes, until the apples are bubbling and the topping is golden. Cover the crust edges with foil if they begin browning too quickly.
    6. Cool and serve. Allow the pie to cool before slicing so the filling has time to set.

There's something special about bringing a homemade pie to the table, especially when it's filled with warm apples and cinnamon. This Dutch Apple Pie is made for sharing, with tart apples tossed in Lakanto Maple Syrup and Lakanto Brown Allulose, all tucked into a flaky pie crust and finished with a buttery almond flour crumb topping.

Whether you're hosting a holiday dinner, gathering family for dessert, or simply making something special for the people around your table, this pie is a beautiful addition to the occasion. It has all the familiar flavors of a classic apple pie, with a lower-sugar alternative to traditional brown sugar that makes every slice even sweeter to share.
