A Little Tip : For the best texture, cook the sweet potatoes until they're tender but not mushy. This helps keep the filling smooth while letting that buttery pecan topping add the perfect crunch.

The best part? You can make this homemade favorite with Lakanto Brown Allulose for that familiar brown sugar flavor, so there's one more reason to gather around the table. 🤎

Ingredients

    Sweet Potato Filling

    • 4 to 5 large sweet potatoes (orange yams)
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1/2 cup evaporated milk, cream, or half-and-half
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup Lakanto Brown Allulose
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 cup butter, melted

    Pecan Topping

    • 3 tablespoons cold butter
    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup Lakanto Brown Allulose
    • 1 cup chopped pecans

    Directions

    1. Cook the sweet potatoes. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the whole sweet potatoes in a large pot and add water until they're a little more than halfway covered. Cover, bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 20 to 40 minutes, until fork-tender but not mushy.
    2. Prepare the filling. Drain the sweet potatoes and let them cool until easy to handle. Remove the skins and place the potatoes in a large bowl.
    3. Mix until smooth. Add the eggs, evaporated milk, vanilla, Lakanto Brown Allulose, salt, and melted butter. Mash with a potato masher, then mix with an electric mixer on low for about 45 seconds, until smooth.
    4. Fill the baking dish. Spread the sweet potato mixture into a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking dish. An 8x11-inch dish or deep 10-inch pie pan also works.
    5. Make the pecan topping. Combine the flour, Lakanto Brown Allulose, and chopped pecans. Cut in the cold butter with a fork or pastry blender until the mixture is well combined, then sprinkle evenly over the sweet potato filling.
    6. Bake. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the topping is golden and the casserole is heated through.

Some side dishes have a way of becoming a tradition, and sweet potato casserole is one of them. This version pairs a smooth, buttery sweet potato filling with a crunchy pecan topping for the perfect mix of textures in every bite.

Made with Lakanto Brown Allulose, it brings that rich, warm brown sugar flavor to a homemade favorite, with a simple 1:1 swap for traditional brown sugar. Whether it's part of a holiday meal or Sunday dinner, this is the kind of dish everyone looks forward to seeing on the table.
